Can you replace a roof during Western Washington’s rainy season?
Yes—with proper planning. We never remove more than we can dry-in the same day, and we use code-compliant underlayment as a temporary weather barrier until shingles are installed. Underlayment provides short-term weather protection and functions as a secondary barrier once the roof is complete.
How do you calculate attic ventilation, and where do vents go?
We size ventilation using industry standards (commonly 1 sq ft of net-free vent area per 150 sq ft of attic floor; in some conditions it’s 1/300 with balanced intake/exhaust and a vapor barrier). Intake typically comes from soffit vents, and exhaust from ridge vents or other approved outlets—balanced to move heat/moisture out of the attic.
What happens if you find rotten or soft roof decking?
We’ll document it after tear-off and replace only the affected sheets before installing underlayment and shingles, so the new roof fastens to solid substrate and performs as designed. (We include photos and a clear line item in your quote update.)
How do you protect my landscaping and clean up the jobsite?
We cover sensitive areas, protect AC units and walkways as needed, and perform magnet sweeps for nails at the end of each workday. Expect construction noise and some vibration indoors; remove delicate wall items in advance.
Do you offer temporary leak control before a full replacement?
If you’re actively leaking, we can tarp or dry-in problem areas to stabilize the roof until weather allows permanent repair or replacement. Underlayment and temporary protection are recognized methods to provide interim weather resistance.
